Thanks @blkdrp for the @Dribbble invite! It will be well used and highly appreciated. Here’s the screenshot of my debut “shot”. Don’t you all just love learning the lingo for all of the platforms?

HJJ is proud to have been a part of this awesome movement by the Ford Motor Company. Together with Blackdrop Studios and SEW Creative, we designed the 2011 TPF website, tracking the progress that these 4 non-profits are making in LA. Check out thepeoplesfleet.com to follow along, and if you’re a not for profit in LA, make sure you toss your name in the hat for TPF next year!

Some close friends are having a baby boy, and are naming him after the great CS Lewis… the author of the legendary, wait for it… Chronicles of Narnia. I was asked to create the invitation for an upcoming baby shower for the little tyke (or Jack, for CS fans). The design for this draws its inspiration from a beautiful design rendered by the incredible talented Ty Mattson from Mattson Creative. We re-created a few of his images, and redirected the piece to display a Narnia wonderland. The goal was to be simple, elegant, and fun as we celebrate the coming of the little guy.

Thanks to another Jo (Jordan Chez of i58:10 Media), we came across the official programme (as the evidently spell it in the UK) of the Royal wedding that will take place Friday morning. The program was designed by Haymarket Media Group in the UK. Below are a couple of shots of how it turned out. Pop some popcorn, follow along and get ready for the party that starts at 1 AM PST! Cheers to the future king and his new bride.

Hey JoJo is happy to introduce you to Orton & Others. O&O is the brain child of Trevor Orton… an up and comer in the creative world, gracing us all with his sharp copy writing skills. We worked with Trevor to develop a classic brand for O&O, taking us all the way back to hand painted shop signs from 20′s England. Hope you enjoy it!

The letter pressed cards were hand printed by Julie of Studio Olivine. Her work speaks for itself.

Alaina’s 30th birthday presented a great opportunity to practice a style of poster design mastered by Ty Mattson and derived from Saul Bass. Last October, Ty Mattson of Mattson Creative posted these eye-catching works of beauty themed after each of the 5 seasons of Dexter (my favorite show). Extremely inspired by this work, I set out to create something similar for my sister-in-law’s 30th birthday, which is today! Each element carries symbolism from her life as a brilliant and hilarious actress from Chicago. Happy Birthday Alaina!

Stay tuned for some behind the scene shots of the printing process as lead by Justin Dickau of Fairweather Press.

Have you heard of Pinterest before? You no longer have to create folders of inspiration on your desktop, write out birthday wish lists, or even bookmark that wrist watch you’ve been eying for 6 months. With Pinterest, you can create board after board of wishes, inspiration and all around tomfoolery. Create your own boards, or search around for boards created by others in the Pinterest community. Like, comment, re-pin and just plain go wild with it. I’ve only just begun… but oh, how I’ve only just begun. The process of developing brand boards for clients just got one click easier. I’m looking forward to getting all Pinteresting up in here. Try it for yourself today with a free account from Pinterest.

Justin Dickau from Fairweather Press did a fantastic job with the screen printing on the Hope for Japan posters. Not only did they donate their time to print our poster, but their detailed approach made the thing a masterpiece. Thanks to Justin for the brilliant print job!

To purchase your individually signed and numbered “Hope for Japan” poster, and to help us donate to the Red Cross efforts in Japan… check out the full poster design here.

The leadership team from the Wild Canyon Games teamed up with the Nike ID folks to create these custom shoes for the Condon/Wheeler Track team, coached by Jon and Melissa Bowerman. The Condon/Wheeler Knights will have two teams in the Wild Canyon Games this year, so we thought it would be neat to shoot these shoes in the Central Oregon terrain. Best of luck to the Knights track team this season!

As we’ve all been made aware of by now, the earthquake and tsunami that followed has misplaced 10′s of thousands of missing persons in Japan. The death toll alone just came in above 3,500. It’s inspiring, however, to see all of the state-side efforts in providing support and prayers for the fallen. Even the smallest of contributions can save lives and help others.

We’ve created a poster, entitled “Hope”, that is now available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds from these posters will go directly to the American Red Cross and their relief efforts in Japan. Note: the kanji at the bottom of the poster translates to “Hope (for) Japan”. Fair Weather Press are the masterminds behind the beautiful screen printing as a contribution to the cause.

Since we’ve been so focused on the Wild Canyon Games lately, we figured we could close up this week with some shots of the new NikeID Wild Canyon Games shoes for 2011. These shoes will be available June 4th during the games. In just a matter of weeks, however, they’ll be available for pre-order at wildcanyongames.org! The ID folks did such a great job on these… I can’t wait to order my pair! Enjoy the weekend all!

We spent this weekend out at Washington Family Ranch with the implementation team for the Wild Canyon Games. Their vision for the games is incredible, and if you’re ever asked to compete, do it! Here are some shots from the drive back to Portland on Sunday.

Hey JoJo Studios was approached to develop a new brand and web presence for Vicki Norris of Vicki Norris’ Restoring Order. We had a great time working with Vicki throughout multiple photo shoots, rounds of design and now moving into development with Threegate over in Idaho. The site should be launching in just a matter of weeks. In the meantime, check out the new VN brand and some of the logo options from early rounds. Cheers!

Hey JoJo is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Wild Canyon Games. WCG is in it’s third year, and this years games are coming up from June 4-6th. In partnering with WCG, Hey JoJo has been asked to design and build a new web presence for the games, which you can see above. The development is now underway and we’re looking forward to launching the new WCG site so you can follow the games and compete in future years!

We’ll let y’all know when it’s live, but for now, visit wildcanyongames.org to learn more about this incredible event.

If any of you ladies are wondering what to get your men for their upcoming birthdays (there’s no such thing as “too early” when it comes to gift giving), I’d trust Bob’s collection of favorites. Joy and Bob Cho run the creative site Oh Joy. Thanks to Trevor from Orton & Others, for recommending I check out Bob’s posts.

If you’re looking for fashion inspiration, gift ideas, or just a creative boost… you can trust Bob.

(oh, and that’s not a “bear club”, it’s a shoe horn… because who doesn’t need a shoe horn that can scare off a home intruder?)

Hey JoJo has a new studio space for commercial photography work. It’s currently a little messy, but it’s a great space.

A big thank you to Julie from Studio Olivine for the beautiful job she did on the Hey JoJo cards and moleskins. Studio Olivine is a local letterpress print shop that uses soy based inks and 100% post consumer recycled paper. Julie did a fantastic job pressing each Hey JoJo card by hand! I was fascinated by the process of correctly placing the cards for each plate and the “outtakes” that it generates. Julie was kind enough to let me keep those outtakes, which you can see below.
